A new cyber security learning experience
Principle Defence is a cyber security firm that believes, when carried out effectively, security is an enabler, not an inhibitor. To seize the opportunities afforded by effective security, however, organisations must have access to the right knowledge and skills.
Stunning design
Principle Defence approached SD Studios for help creating a flashcard web application that would form part of a new cyber security digital learning experience. The design of this application was paramount to ensuring security best practices were conveyed to users.
Each flashcard posed a question related to a security course, which users could attempt to answer without checking. To confirm the correct response, users click the card to reveal the answer, alongside references to where more information can be found regarding the question. Included on the answer card is the option to confirm whether the answer is correct or not. If this feature is used, the app will log this and – once all flashcards are completed – advise on areas where further revision is needed. Our design studio supported the creation of the app’s user interface using Adobe and Sketch where required.
A bespoke analytics dashboard provides clear visibility into the performance and progress of an individual’s cyber security learning. For further clarity, a results matrix can also be downloaded in PDF form.
Strategic development
The partnership between SD Studios and Principle Defence began with our team providing scoped software requirements and costs. Following this, we built a delivery plan with engineering milestones and structured product reviews and created a build tracker to capture the status of requirements and document bugs/fixes.
Successful delivery
The online flashcard application has supported Principle Defence’s learners, serving as an aid for exam preparation alongside the company’s other resources, including its learning support pack and range of webinars.
