Supporting a Movement for Movement
Greater Manchester Moving is a charity with a clear purpose to encourage movement, physical activity, and sport in the region. Since its establishment in 2017, the initiative has generated a number of social and economic benefits, including getting a record number of people moving in Greater Manchester.
The Rights to the Streets project comes after GM Moving was awarded £490,448 through the Home Office Safer Streets Fund and trials various interventions that will enable women, girls, boys and men, to be active citizens in their communities, equipped with the tools, information, networks and agency to stop violence against women and girls, and reclaim their right to the streets.
Stunning design
GM Moving began a partnership with SD Studios to create new game cards, instructions and a game box in support of the Rights to the Streets initiative. These included various game cards designed to encourage reflection and debate on various social issues, including public safety, inclusivity, and community relations.
Strategic development
Throughout the collaboration, we provided end-to-end product development for the client, scoping project requirements and costs, defining production specifications and artwork requirements, approving print production, developing product prototypes, and managing photographs for use on the client’s ecommerce website.
Successful delivery
Overall feedback regarding Rights to the Streets workshops was overwhelmingly positive, with 99% of participants that completed the feedback exercise responding ‘yes’ to the question ‘would you recommend the workshop to a friend/colleague’. Using infographics, challenge cards and design-led approaches, our physical products have played an important role in this positive response.
We are proud that the resources developed alongside GM Moving are playing their part in making streets, parks, and public spaces safe, joyful, and welcoming places. Movement is for everyone.
